When
18 March 2025
Affects
Carris (buses and trams)

A one-day strike at Carris, which runs Lisbon's city buses, trams and funiculars, called by the STRUP union over pay, the meal allowance and a gradual move to a 35-hour week. Minimum services kept 12 bus routes running normally. Carris said 22% of staff joined the strike during the morning and that about 40% of its service did not run; the union put turnout above 60%.

What to do

In a Carris strike the Metro and CP trains still run, so use them for longer trips across the city. The buses and trams that do run can be very full, so allow extra time.
