- Carris (buses and trams)
Carris bus and tram staff struck for 24 hours, from 22:00 on Tuesday 17 September to 22:00 on Wednesday 18 September, called by the Fectrans federation and its STRUP union. They wanted €100 more on the pay scale, a higher meal allowance and a gradual move to a 35-hour week; three other Carris unions had already signed an agreement for a €60 rise. No minimum services were set for buses or trams. The STRUP said more than 90% of workers had joined by 09:00.
What to do
In a Carris strike the Metro and CP trains still run, so use them to get across the city. When no minimum services are set, expect very few buses and trams all day.
