- Carris (buses and trams)
Carris workers held a week of partial strikes from Monday 17 to Friday 21 June, on top of a strike on overtime from 3 to 22 June, both called by the STRUP union, part of Fectrans. They wanted €100 more on the pay scale, a higher meal allowance and a gradual move from 40 to 35 hours a week; the company had offered €70. The arbitration tribunal set minimum services for the partial strikes. During the overtime strike the union warned that some trips might not run, because drivers would head back to the depot at the end of their shift even if no one had come to relieve them.
What to do
During partial Carris strikes, buses and trams run less often and some trips are cancelled at short notice. Use the Metro or CP trains for longer trips and allow extra time.
