easyJet cabin crew based in Portugal struck from 00:01 on 15 August to midnight on 17 August, in the middle of the summer holidays. The SNPVAC union, whose members backed the strike by 99.3%, pointed to unstable rosters, pay errors and crew being treated worse than pilots. easyJet said it had cancelled 232 of the 1,138 flights it planned to and from Portugal over the three days. On the first morning easyJet put turnout at 73%; the union said it was close to 100%.

What to do

In an airline crew strike only that airline's flights are affected. Check your booking in the airline's app before leaving for the airport, and keep every email about a cancellation or delay.

If your flight was cancelled or badly delayed, see your EU rights when a strike cancels a flight: a refund or another flight, meals and a hotel, and when compensation is due.
