The unions behind the 14 October Metro strike have given notice of two more, this time partial: from 05:00 to 10:00 on Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 October. They give the same reasons, which centre on staff shortages and long overtime in the central control room, and say the company has not kept the 13 April agreement. Metro de Lisboa calls the strikes disproportionate and says it will ask the arbitration tribunal to set minimum services; none had been announced by 18 October.
What to do
Unless minimum services are set, expect little or no Metro service before 10:00 on those two mornings. If you have an early flight or train, plan a route that does not need the Metro (the airport is on the red line), and check metrolisboa.pt the evening before. After similar morning strikes in September 2025, all lines were running normally by about 10:40.
