CP's ticket inspectors struck for the day, called by their union SFRCI, which said CP had not carried out a pay-scale agreement reached two months before. No minimum services were set, and CP let passengers refund or swap long-distance and regional tickets for free. It was also the day of the power cut across Portugal and Spain: CP's last update before it, at about 11:30, said no trains had run until 10:00. The union said every inspector took part.
What to do
A strike by one group of CP staff, such as ticket inspectors, can still stop most trains. Check CP's service updates the evening before, and have a backup plan for Sintra and Cascais, which are on CP lines.
